The week in review

The car drove great this week.

I am getting the hang of the choke settings, not perfect yet, but better.

I drove it to the flower shop, about 2 miles one way, each day and drove to the new Kent County building, to & from the flower shop to deliver flowers to the Planning Department secretary, yesterday, for Sarah!!

It's funny how driving this old car is so different than driving our PT which is manual. The gear ratios & the speeds at which you at when you change the gears is radically different.

When I am behind the wheel, nothing but MOTORIN'!!! No radio, no iPod, must concentrate!!

I have considered keeping my derby in the little car to wear!! Am I crazy?? YES!!

Mileage notes

I need to keep track of the mileage here, too.

The master cylinder for the clutch was replaced at 87,720.

This tank of gas was probably at 87,750... we have a tripometer, alright, but the reset is a bit tricky.. time to get the manual out to see if I am doing it wrong.

This & that

I am just posting before bed...

Glad the little car is back.

Just want to make a note, I made biz cards for it, today, mostly because I need Donald to remember our number.

Also, I now have an envelope for all the important papers and pen with notepad for the glove box (Left or Right!) to take notes for logging!

Insurance!

We now have the insurance on the little car! Next week, a new tag and send this one back to Donald!

It's back!!!

Turns out that the part could get here for the UK in only 3 days! Woo, hoo, we have a new master cylinder for the clutch!!!

Donald gave the Wolseley a bath, as well.

Now parked 'safely' in front of the house. I will be driving it to work, first thing, in the morning!!

Uh, oh!

Well, as I told Mick when he called today, this is part of the SPORT of having an antique car!!!

Let's back up...

The previous post about the clutch, well, it wasn't the fluid leaking, not the gasket, either, nope, nope...

Mick came to pick up the car and take it back to the farm (where the garage is, I need some photos of the farm to show you, it's lovely!). Donald & Mick gave it a going over, George was there, today, too, so we have the real expert on board.

It was the MASTER CYLINDER.

Ah, well.

Getting a new master cylinder will be the next adventure. There will be more news on this tomorrow. In the meanwhile, the Wolseley will stay at the farm.

First Repair Needed!

Well, in the process of taking care of an antique vehicle, these are the kinds of bumps in the road (sorry for the bad pun!) that one would expect.

We are having a some trouble with the clutch. It seems, when you hold the clutch down, feels tight at first and then it sinks to the floor, causing the gear to engage.

I called Donald, our friendly seller and we are thinking that the fluid in clutch & master cylinder is low or may need a new gasket. This will be something Kelly will try to do himself on Saturday, if it needs more than we can do, Donald says he will come over on Sunday.

It is just one of those little things.

New Photos in the 35mm camera

I can't wait to get these developed.

There are some big asphalt removal machines and things out Mad Max or Star Wars parked very near our Wolseley in front of our house.

New Photo Website for our Wolseley

*HERE* is the start of what I hope to be many pages of photos of our little car!

Nothing like an old British car for a hobby!!!??

We are the proud owners, just this week, of a 1959 Wolseley 1500 Mark I Saloon!!!

Monday, I put 4.8 gallons of petrol into it.

Drove it around town and went by Mike & Betsy's to show it off!

This could be a life changing purchase!
